Paul and Tina O’Brien turned a personal loss into a community triumph by establishing the O’Brien Children Memorial Fund. This fund started the Shenango Valley Foundation and has provided a compass by generously benefiting children and the elderly in our area. Medical and dental attention, wheelchairs, home entrance ramps, and help to equip vans for the handicapped are just a few of the necessities that this fund provides.

Clean and well organized books separated into about 35 categories, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, and board games.

Books are donated annually from the community - nothing is kept over from previous sales. Very few books are purged and donated from the library.

The 5k / 2 mile walk benefits the Community Food Warehouse

Race begins at 9 a.m. with the walk commencing immediately after.

Every runner and walker who crosses the finish line will be entered into a drawing for $1,000.

$20 on race day. Free kids fun run.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 a.m.

Choose from four routes of 12, 32, 65 or 100 miles. Stops include Greene Eagle Winery, Resele Marina, Conneaut Cellars and Lago Winery. Cost includes ride, food and support. Support vehicles will patrol the course, but each rider is responsible for his or her bike maintenance. Helmets required.

Registration postmarked through Aug. 30 is $25; after Aug. 30 and day of is $30.

T-shirts may be pre-ordered by August 16 for $15 each.

Co-sponsored by the Friends of Goddard (FROG) and Goddard State Park. All proceeds benefit new playground equipment.

The community celebration and pioneer workday will focus on the pioneers who settled the Lake Wilhelm watershed area in the 1700s through 1840s.

Demonstrations include blacksmithing, tanning, spinning, and dutch oven cooking. Entertainment both days, wagon rides, artisans, food vendors and more! Live Cresswell Charity Auction on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Admission and parking are free.
M. K. Goddard State Park is located five minutes from I-79. Take Exit 130 to 358 West and follow the signs to Lake Wilhelm Road, leading directly to the marina. For further directions or more information contact the park at 724-253-4833. Park maps are available on our web page.

Each year starting at the Park Inn by Radisson in West Middlesex, Pa. hundreds of participants, community-wide, brave the cold in an attempt to conquer the Snowball Crawl! This event consists of playing miniature golf at some of your favorite local establishments in the Shenango Valley. Proceeds benefit the programs of the Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation. This event is aimed at raising money and awareness to help the animals of Strayhaven, as well as supporting local establishments! Space is limited, so registration is first come, first served. Registration deadline is October 30.

Included in the registration fee is the bus transportation between each establishment and a limited edition "2017 Strayhaven Bark Crawl" T-shirt to wear on the day of the event!
