Last Wednesday, Jamestown Coating Technologies CEO, Mike Walton provided a tour of their facility and operations. You know that Caterpillar heavy construction equipment yellow? Jamestown Coatings made that. In fact, you probably see and interact with goods regularly that have been coated by products made by this local manufacturer.

Jamestown Coating Technologies has been producing, right here in Jamestown, since 1885. That means a 140th anniversary is to be celebrated next year! In this month’s newsletter, I started on the topic of “the long haul” and even mentioned Jamestown Coatings as an example of a member who has been serving this area for many many years. While on tour I learned that Jamestown Coatings has a clear commitment to innovation, which I attribute to their longevity. Nearly half of the company’s workforce is in Research and Development. It was also exciting to hear about plans to expand manufacturing capabilities as they prepare for continued growth. Thank you, Mike and JD Walton, for your hospitality and for your leadership in making Jamestown Coating Technologies a valuable local manufacturer with a global impact.
