Greenville Launches Home Improvement Assistance Program
$18,000 in grant funding available to help homeowners correct exterior code violations
Greenville, PA – The Greenville Area Economic Development Corporation (GAEDC), in partnership with the Dietrich Foundation, has launched the Greenville Home Improvement Assistance Program. The program offers grants of up to $1,000 per household to help eligible Greenville Borough homeowners make exterior repairs needed to correct code violations. A total of $18,000 is available and funding will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until exhausted.
To qualify, applicants must:
• Own and live in a single-family home within Greenville Borough
• Be current on property taxes and mortgage payments
• Meet low- to moderate-income guidelines (proof required)
• Have an existing exterior code violation that the repair will correct
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, with property inspections before and after work is completed. Homeowners may perform the work themselves (materials only reimbursed) or hire a handyman or contractor with liability insurance.
“We understand that many residents are doing the best they can with limited resources,” said Ellen Pardee, Executive Director of GAEDC. “This program is our way of showing compassion while still keeping Greenville safe and beautiful.”
How to Apply:
Applications are available at the Greenville Borough Building, the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, or by contacting GAEDC.
